Youth Killed in Noakhali: Three Suspects Apprehended After Deadly Shooting
Noakhali, April 29 - A young man was killed by armed attackers in Begumganj Upazila of Noakhali District late Monday evening.
The individual who passed away has been identified as Md. Shakil, son ofMd. Solaiman Khokon from Gangabar Bazar within Chayani union of the upazila. His occupation was an aluminum technician.
Eyewitnesses reported that Shakil and several individuals were enjoying tea at a store within a nearby marketplace around 8 pm when they saw five masked gunmen arrive aboard an auto-rickshaw powered by compressed natural gas.
The troublemakers tried to kidnap a young boy named Labib by force.
Following their exclusion of Shakil and several others, the troublemakers departed the location only to come back moments later and open fire, resulting in the death of Shakil.
A man from Jubo Dal was killed in Chittagong.
His younger sibling, Shuvo, was likewise severely hurt when assaulted with a bladed instrument.
The locals quickly took both brothers to Noakhali General Hospital, where doctors announced that Shakil had died upon arrival. Shuvo was receiving medical care there.
Nevertheless, residents apprehended three of the assailants and administered a severe beating to them.
Md. Habibur Rahman, an investigator from the Begumganj Model Police Station serving as an inspector, stated that law enforcement personnel were dispatched to the location and managed to stabilize the circumstances.
By 10:30 PM, authorities were unable to extract the detainees from the mob. Locals allegedly declined to surrender them to the police, stating their intention to transfer the individuals to military custody instead.
