Binga Woman Arrested for Tragic Killing of Daughter
The police in Hwange have apprehended a woman from Mujimba 9 in Siabuwa, located in the Binga district of Matabeleland North province, after she admitted to murdering her six-year-old disabled child.
According to a statement from national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the woman has been named as Melody Mwiinde (23).
The killing occurred on April 23 of this year. Mwiinde was apprehended two days thereafter.
The suspect reportedly murdered her 6-year-old daughter by suspending her using an electric cord tied to a tree branch," Nyathi stated. "The remains were later discarded in an abandoned shack.
He stated that Mwiinde admitted to killing her daughter since individuals were ridiculing her for having a child with disabilities, whom the father had rejected.
