Russian Military Delegation Visits India's Elite Military Engineering College

New Delhi [India], March 28 (ANI): A six-member delegation from the Russian Army Led by Major General Andrei Marchenko, proceeded to visit the College of Military Engineering in Maharashtra's Pune From March 26 to 28, 2025, as part of the Subject Matter Experts Exchange Program.

While visiting, the group met with Lieutenant General AK Ramesh, who serves as both the Commandant and CME. They toured the facility, discussed effective teaching methods, and talked about their battle stories. This meeting represents an additional move toward enhancing military collaboration between the two countries.

Previously, the 14th edition of the joint Indian-Russian naval drill named Indra, which serves as a key component of the strong maritime relationship between India and Russia, was scheduled for March 28 to April 2, 2025, near Chennai.

Since 2003, Exercise Indra has symbolized the enduring strategic partnership between the two navies.

The drill has transformed into an emblem of maritime collaboration, highlighting both countries' dedication to improving naval coordination and joint operations efficiency. As per an official release, this training consists of two stages: the Harbor stage will occur from March 28-30, 2025, in Chennai, followed by the Maritime stage taking place from March 31 to April 2, 2025, within the Bay of Bengal.

The drill will include vessels from the Russian Navy—Pechenga, Razliv, and Aldar Tsydenzhapov—as well as ships from the Indian Navy: Rana, Kuvalaya, along with a maritime patrol aircraft designated as P-8I.

The purpose of these activities and engagements is to boost maritime collaboration, reinforce bonds of friendship, share superior operational techniques, and fortify diplomatic relationships between the two countries. (ANI)
