"Back Home Again," Chetan Sakariya Shares His Joy in Returning to KKR for IPL 2025
Kolkata (West Bengal), India - On March 17 (via ANI): Left-arm fast bowler Chetan Sakariya is thrilled to return with the Kolkata Knight Riders For the approaching Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the fast bowler hailing from Saurashtra has been brought onboard by the reigning title holders. He will be stepping into Umran Malik’s shoes for this new season, according to reports. KKR press release.
Before the start of the new season, Sakariya formally joined the team. KKR On Monday, he returned to the squad and shared his enthusiasm about being back with the team. He stated, "I'm genuinely thrilled to be here again. It seems as though I was away for just a short time. I have rejoined the group maintaining the same spirit." KKR is renowned for his high energy levels, and all the players share this mentality during practice sessions."
The player, who is 27 years old, has played for India in one ODI match and two T20I games. Additionally, he took 20 wickets in 19 Indian Premier League fixtures. Currently, however, he is focused on regaining full fitness as he recovers from an injury sustained in February 2024.
Sakaria shared some details about his preparation as he works towards making a comeback to competitive play.
"I am deeply thankful to KKR Management believes in me, and I'm in a positive frame of mind after thorough preparation. Therefore, I approach this season with confidence," stated the 27-year-old athlete, as cited by the source. KKR press release.
The promising pace bowler also talked about the opportunity to collaborate with legends such as Bharat Arun and mentor Dwayne Bravo off the field.

Kolkata Knight Riders will kick off the 18th installment of the lucrative tournament when they face Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22 at the famous arena Eden Gardens , with Ajinkya Rahane leading this time around. (ANI)
